Readings

Like many poets, I have read in venues large and small, from auditoriums to bars, from a bookstore that seated 100 to another where all the readers sat facing each other in a circle. I love reading my work and would gladly read at whatever venue you have available.

In 2016, 2017, and 2018, I was the featured poetry reader for the closing ceremony of the Saints & Sinners Festival, part of the Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival. I have also been part of many group readings for Saints & Sinners.

In 2015, I read as part of the Delta Mouth Literary Festival at LSU.

In 2012, I read at the Oxford Conference for the Book, at the University of Mississippi.

In 2011, I read at AWP as one of five Washington Prize winners. I also read with Nicole Cooley as part of the Observable reading series in St. Louis.

In 2010, I was one of six readers (including Peter Cooley, Nicole Cooley, Yusef Komunyakaa, Martha Serpas, and Brenda Marie Osbey) at Tulane University, for an event sponsored by the Poetry Society of America, commemorating the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

In 2002, I read at Housing Works Bookstore in New York, as the poetry winner of the 2002 Poets & Writers, Inc. Writers Exchange Award.
